Blessing from the Goddess and Transfer to Another World! ~No Thanks, I Don’t Need a Special Ability~ Chapter 60

ED: I will be changing some names from the previous translations if I think another name would work better, e.g. Skills being divided into Martial Arts, Magic Skills, Techniques, Physical Skills, and Others. I will also use an ‘Inventory [Infinite Storage]’ notation for furigana, since author-san sometimes uses it for double meanings and/or jokes, like in ‘Garbage [Blessing’s Remnant]’, or ‘Minerva [Miss Big Boobs]’. Think of it as the main character saying the former while thinking the latter. Still, I might skip it if it’s redundant, like in ‘Acceleration [Acceleration]’, or if it just works without brackets, like in ‘Colette, the female Branch Manager’.

Chapter 60 – Fishing and a Monster Girl

Author’s Notes: There was a hint hidden somewhere in the previous chapter, about what Part 4 will be all about.

**************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************

After dinner, we talked about today’s events, as we did yesterday.

“We ate over 30 meals in a single day. We spent a lot of money.”

“We’ve checked off most of the shops on our ‘recommended’ list, so, from tomorrow on, we’ll start looking for those hole-in-the-wall places.”

“That’s right. We’ve already been to most of the reasonably well-known restaurants. Tomorrow, it’s time to start following our intuition.”

It seems that Sera and Mio have eaten their way through quite a few shops. But really, Sera’s stomach is bottomless. And she’s not out of shape at all. In fact, there are no excess calories, so there’s no way she can gain weight to begin with.

“Pretty sure I can recreate at least 90% of them, so I’ll be adding them to my repertoire.”

“We’ve had a lot of fish dishes, since there are multiple rivers and lakes nearby. Most of the meat seemed to be imported from Estia. It all tasted the same.”

“Oh, you can tell?”

“It’s common for people to misunderstand, since I’m a big eater, but I’m pretty confident in my taste buds.”

“Hmm, that’s certainly surprising.”

I was always under the impression that people don’t really savour their food when they just shove it in. Then again, Sera eats a lot, but it’s not like she’s overeating. Even if she chews very fast, and her hands and mouth are always moving, …isn’t that also a good way to enjoy a meal?

“Actually, Sera-chan’s tongue has helped me and Nino-chan a lot. The three of us are usually of one mind when it comes to food-tasting, so if she says we don’t need to try a dish, we can safely just skip it.” (ED: Nino is a maid, and Mio’s first cooking apprentice. She appeared in Chapter 43.5: Food Fight! Sera)

“If it’s a poorly made dish, there’s no need for Mio and everyone to try it. Plus, I want you to prioritise studying food that everyone will enjoy eating.”

“Leave it to me! I will eventually make it possible for you to eat dishes from all over the world at this mansion!”

If the Chamber of Advanced Commerce sets up portals around the world, and procures the ingredients and the cooking techniques of those countries, it really might be possible to eat dishes from around the world at our mansion in the future. Still, I don’t need any from Eludia.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After Mio and Sera’s recap, it was finally Sakura’s turn. Well, we still have the Garbage [Blessing’s Remnant] to talk about, but since we’re relaxing at the moment, I’ll leave it for another time.
“The next one is me… I’ve finally learned a new skill! It’s called ‘Fast Reading’!”
“Oh, that’s great!”
Sakura told me before that she wanted to get some skills on her own, since, unlike me, she has a non-zero chance of learning new ones. I was getting worried about her, since she hadn’t mentioned anything about it since, but, apparently, she was able to learn one successfully.
Kinoshita Sakura
Skills:
Techniques: <Fast Reading LV1 new>
“Is ‘Fast Reading’ a Technique?”
“Yes… But the other skills were too hard for me to get…”
Martial Arts, Magic Skills and Physical Skills require a great deal of talent to learn. For Sakura, who isn’t very good at moving her body, Martial Arts and Physical Skills might be a bit too much to ask for, and as for the Magic Skills, she already has most of them, so it would probably be difficult for her to learn any new ones. Well, if anything, this only further accentuates the abnormality of Maria, who learns new skills with little effort, and Kate, who learned other Magic Skills on her own, after I gave her just ‘Water Magic’.
“And the production skills are just…”
“Right, people with special powers have a negative correction to their production skills.”
Techniques also include production-related skills, but when it comes to those, some people get worse results than others. Like, when making potions… Honestly, I don’t think it’s possible to get a skill that won’t help you in one way or another, so she should probably concentrate on the non-production-related Techniques going forward.
“Yes… So, I’ve been trying out various skills that I’ve learned back in our home world… This time around, I had some free time, so I tried using the ones related to books, and I successfully acquired the ‘Fast Reading’ skill…”
“So, Sakura-sama, were you able to read really fast in our home world as well?”
“Yes… But I didn’t really use it that often… Only when I didn’t have much time, or when there was a book I really wanted to read…”
Sakura nodded, as she answered Mio’s question. Still, how come she could use this skill in our home world, but didn’t get it when we came over to this world?
A: If she hadn’t used it since coming to this world, she didn’t fulfil the conditions for learning the actual skill. (ED: In italics for telepathy)
I see. So that’s why when I came to this world, the skills I developed back home didn’t show up as actual skills, right? And since I can’t learn new skills on my own, I can’t get them any more either. …Dang it! Maybe I’ll just try teaching them to Maria instead.
“By the way, Maria, how many new skills have you learned since we started integrating skills?”
Even if I don’t do anything, Maria keeps getting new skills on her own all the time. She immediately transfers the skill points to me (via Alta), so there’s nothing left in her skills list, but even so, she acquired quite a lot of them.
“Yes, there were: ‘Jiu-jitsu’, ‘Claw Mastery’, ‘Gauntlet Mastery’, ‘Chain-Sickle Mastery’, ‘Agriculture’, ‘Animal Dissection’, ‘Item Repair’, ‘Trapping’, ‘Wall Running’, and ‘Diving’. I already reported about ‘Fishing’, and ‘Pisciculture’ that I learned yesterday, Jin-sama, but if I include those, it will be 12 skills in total.”
“Yep, that’s quite a lot. Keep up the good work.”
“Yes. Please leave it to me.”
The reason why I took the trouble to ask her via telepathy, was because openly asking Maria, who is the unrivalled leader in skill acquisition, about this topic right now would be pretty mean to Sakura. It would be like saying ‘What are you, finally learning a single skill?’, or something like that. …Well, I’m not the one to tell her that, with my 0% chance of skill acquisition…
When I had another look at the list of Maria’s self-taught skills the other day, it was already quite impressive, but there weren’t many Martial Arts, so I asked her to try and learn some that I know of, and this is how it turned out. …Overall, it looks very Japanese-esqe and ninja-like. By the way, isn’t there a ‘Ninjutsu’ skill?
A: There is.
I’ve decided. I’ll have Maria learn ‘Ninjutsu’ next time. This way, I can give her plenty of advice.
“What’s the matter, Jin-kun? You look like you’ve made up your mind on something.”
“Oh, it’s nothing.”
I’ll think about ‘Maria’s Ninja-Training Plan’ later, so, for now, let’s keep talking about Sakura’s new skill.
“The way you phrased it earlier, it sounded as if you had a few other candidates, right?”
“The other ones didn’t pan out so well, so I’d appreciate it if you didn’t ask…”
“Well, there’s always tomorrow, and it might not be something you can learn right away, so don’t get discouraged and give up right away.”
“You’re right… I’ll give it a few more tries…”
With Sakura’s recap now over, we decided to go to bed. Of course, Dora was already asleep. She’s my body pillow for today.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Next day, it was the third day of free activities.

It was nice, taking my time fishing, but I also wanted to get a bigger catch once in a while, so I decided to start fishing with bait after an hour. I was using paste bait, not worms, nor other insects. I took a pinch of it from the bag and kneaded it with my fingers to make it round, before sticking it on the hook, and dropping it into the lake, letting it sink with a *plop* sound.

-Boom!-

What jumped out of the lake with a loud bang was a huge serpent, about 10 metres long.

Sea Serpent (Rare)
LV85
Skills: <Water Magic LV7> <Aquatic LV6> <Diving LV6> <Flying LV2> <Transformation LV7>
Notes: A sea-dwelling monster.

I seem to have caught a monster, and a pretty big one at that. The ‘Notes’ say it lives in the sea, but this is a lake, right? Other than that, its level is unusually high. It’s not a monster that should be living in a random lake, you know.

The Sea Serpent glared at me, with the fish hook still firmly lodged into its jaw. Clearly, it has judged me to be the enemy. …Yeah, having a fish hook stuck in your mouth is pretty painful I’d imagine.

Apparently, It decided to get rid of me instead of running away, as it charged straight at me. Given how it has the ‘Flying’ skill, it doesn’t seem to be confined to just water. As it approached me, it jumped out of the lake and tried to body-slam me. Well, with 10 metres in length, and a thickness roughly that of a telegraph pole, it must be pretty heavy. If an ordinary person were to get hit by it, they likely wouldn’t come out unscathed.

For now, I decided to dodge, letting the Sea Serpent fly right past me.

Although it missed with its initial attack, it kept circling in the air around me looking for another opening. Well, if you’re not gonna come to me on your own… I yanked on the fishing rod.

“GYOOOOON!?”

The Sea Serpent gave its distinctive cry as it suddenly lost its balance. It managed to avoid crashing down though, and was now flying through the air, while dragging me along. By the way, the fishing rod that Colette, the female Branch Manager, prepared for me is really sturdy. It didn’t break, even when facing a 10-metre-long monster, and neither did the fishing line snap.

“There’s no need for Jin-sama to fight a meagre monster. I will deal with it myself.”

Saying that, Maria stepped forward, ready to battle, with the Sunlight Sword – Sol already in her right hand and the Moonlight Sword – Luna in her left.

“Maria, wait. Don’t attack this guy.”

“Why? It’s a monster that attacked Jin-sama, isn’t it?”

“It’s my prey. I’m gonna catch it myself.”

This guy was in the lake, and it bit on my hook, so, in other words, it’s now a one-on-one battle between us, and the Sea Serpent hasn’t given in to me yet. Also, I can’t exactly say that I’ve fished it out, now that it’s in the air, since it has the ‘Flying’ skill, plus, I didn’t as much pull it out of the water, as it came flying right at me on its own. Therefore, until there’s a clear winner, I can’t let Maria harpoon at it from the side. She does use swords though. (ED: Probably a whaling metaphor or something)

“…I understand. I wish you the best of luck.”

Maria immediately backed down. It’s not like my life is in danger, and since she is already nearby, she was likely more accommodating this time around.

If we fought head on, there’s no way I could lose, however, since this is a battle of fishing, if the fishing line snaps, or the rod breaks, it’s my loss. And I’m a pretty competitive person, in case you didn’t know.

“GYUOOOOOO!”

A magic circle appeared in front of the Sea Serpent. It’s blue, so it’s definitely Water Magic. Plus, I’d already seen it on its skills list…

About 10 seconds later, Aqua Spread, a level 3 Water Magic spell, was activated. It’s a spell that launches ten or so water spheres, each one larger than the level 1 spell, Aqua Ball, so it’s hard to avoid them all in tight spaces. However, there is enough of a difference in our status that I don’t really care if I get hit by them to begin with…

“Maria, take care of the ones that miss me.”

I don’t like to have stray bullets flying off randomly.

“Yes.”

The moment I said that, Maria got in position to cut down all the water spheres that didn’t hit me. And so…

-Don! Don! Don!-

Three water spheres hit me directly.

“GYAGYAGYA!?”

“Nope, it didn’t work.”

No damage at all. As expected, there is too much difference in our status. Other than that, I’m only guessing, but the Sea Serpent probably said: “How did you not get hurt?”

“GYO!?”

The Sea Serpent had an astonished expression on its face. There was no reason to miss this opportunity, so I pulled on the rod even harder than before.

“GYOE!?”

With that, the Sea Serpent completely lost its balance and crashed to the ground.

“Now I can finally say ‘I’ve caught it’. Plus…”

If you catch something, it’s best to eat it while it’s still fresh.

I approached the fallen Sea Serpent. Still, it wasn’t going to just let me eat it, so it got back up and tried to bite at me. Well, I might have called it ‘fishing’, but the Sea Serpent didn’t care one way or the other, so of course it would try to attack me even after being caught.

But if you think about it, what did I say to stop Maria from attacking it? I said: ‘I’m gonna catch it myself’, and the fishing part ended with me winning just now. In other words, there is no reason to abstain from fighting it head on any more.

-Gashi-

I grabbed the Sea Serpent by the head with my left hand.

“GYUON?”

The Sea Serpent got startled again. It tried to free its head by pulling and pushing its body, but I wouldn’t budge. Instead, I used the composite skill ‘Fear’ on it.

-Busha!-

Being an aquatic monster, it seemed to have kept a large amount of water in its bladder. Now, isn’t that incontinent? Even the momentum is unlike anything I’d seen before. At some point the Sea Serpent started to convulse, and bubbles started to come out, so I turned off ‘Fear’ when it got that far.

I already knew ‘Fear’ is pretty strong, especially since its power rises with my status. As a side note, I tried letting other people use it on me as an experiment before, but it had no effect at all. I thought is was due to the mental protection granted by my ‘Avatar’ special power, but, according to Alta:

A: It would have been the same, with or without it.

Is what she said. I wonder just how thick my skin has become.

I looked at the convulsing Sea Serpent. What should I do with this guy? I could just finish it off, or I could tame it, given how it’s a rare species and all. …Let me think.

“What should we do with this monster, Jin-sama?”

“I’ll decide based on what it does once it wakes up. If it attacks, I’ll kill it, and if it submits, I’ll tame it instead.”

“Understood.”

“Master, what are you doing~?”

Dora was coming our way. Apparently, she was asleep until now. When she woke up, I wasn’t there, so she came looking for me. As a side note, she was sleeping while using Nosferatu [Wings of the Immortal] for support. No respect for Legendary items… (ED: Jin’s ‘Flying’-enchanted cloak. I’m guessing she used it as a levitating hammock)

“Hmm? I’ve caught this guy, and I was just about to decide whether I should tame it, or turn it into kabayaki.” (ED: Grilled eel)

“Yum, kabayaki~!”

“Sorry, it’s not a majority vote. It depends on whether it behaves once it wakes up.”

“A shame…”

Dora looked a little sad. It made me think that just going with kabayaki would also be fine, but I don’t like going back on decisions I’ve already made, so… Sorry, Dora.

After a while, the Sea Serpent finally woke up. Well, technically, it‘s still pretending to be asleep… Maybe it thinks that if it plays dead, we’ll leave it alone.

“I give life for obedience and death for hostility.”

I confronted it with this one sentence. It doesn’t matter if you understand me or not. I’m just telling you that I’m onto you. The Sea Serpent shuddered, got up and began to rub its head on the ground. No matter how you look at it, it has no will to fight any more.

“Dora’s kabayaki…”

Dora mumbled sadly as she realised that the kabayaki wasn’t gonna happen.

“GYAU!?”

The Sea Serpent looked around nervously. Dora speaks via telepathy, so it couldn’t have heard her, but it looks like it still got the chills.

The story couldn’t progress like this, so I used the ‘Monster Taming’ skill on it.

> Sea Serpent has been tamed.
> Please give it a name.

Naturally, the Sea Serpent agreed to be tamed without resistance.

Now, before I decide on a name, let’s take a look at its status. Since it wasn’t that important for fishing, I only took a peek at its basic description before, but now that it’s become a subordinate of mine, I’m curious about the details. Well, I’m sure there’s nothing harmful in there, since Alta would have warned me otherwise.

Name: –
Gender: Female
Age: 694 years old
Race: Sea Serpent (Rare)
Skills: <Water Magic LV7> <Aquatic LV6> <Diving LV6> <Flying LV2> <Transformation LV7>
Titles: Jin’s Monster Follower

Oh, it’s a she? And she’s quite old at that. Just what you’d expect of a Guardian Spirit (placeholder name).

By the way, I’ve been wondering for a while now, but what’s this ‘Transformation’ skill all about?

A: It’s a skill that allows one to change into other forms. It’s similar to Dora’s ability to switch between her human and dragon form.

Two questions: First, why does Dora not have this skill? Second, how is it different from Tamo-san’s ‘Mimic’ skill?

A: The answer to the first question is unknown. So far, the only known monster species that can take a human form without the ‘Transformation’ skill is the Dragon Newt.

If anything, doesn’t that make Dragon Newts even more special?

A: The answer to the second question is: whether or not it’s their own form. ‘Mimic’ is a skill for imitating others, while ‘Transformation’ allows one to change form, but only into another form of theirs.

Does that mean that after releasing ‘Transformation’ one returns to their original form? It does seem quite similar to how Dora’s transformation works.

“Hey, what can you change into?”

For the time being, I decided to ask her via telepathy.

“GYAU?”

The Sea Serpent looked around in surprise.

“Try to speak to me in your head.”

When I said that, the Sea Serpent stopped moving and closed her eyes.

“Ah, uh, uh, can you hear me?”

“Oh, I can hear you. It’s the Sea Serpent, right?”

“Yes, sir.”

She has a strange way of speaking, but her voice is clear and beautiful. I guess she has that in common with another subordinate of mine, Fiyu, who’s a musician in Estia. (ED: She adds ~ssu at the end of her lines, which is supposed to make her sound submissive, so I went with ‘sir’)

“You understand that you’ve been tamed by me, right?”

“Uuu… Yes, sir.”

The Sea Serpent shrank its body a bit. …It’s actually kind of cute.

“I know that you can change your form.”

“!?”

“I’ll ask you one more time. What can you change into?”

There won’t be a third time.

“Yes, sir. I can become a snake, a serpent, a mermaid, and a human, sir.”

That’s a surprisingly large variety. I’ve already expected this, since we had just talked about Dora’s transformation ability, but it looks like she can become a human too.

“Can you speak, while in your human form?”

“Yes, I can speak, sir.”

“Then, take your human form.”

“Understood, sir.”

After she said so, the Sea Serpent’s body shone just like Dora’s.

What appeared next was a woman with crystal-clear blue hair stretching all the way down to the ground. She looks to be about 20 years old, is quite beautiful, and completely naked… Well, if your transformation works the same way as Dora’s, you’ll be naked right after you change.

“Phew, it’s been a long time since I’ve last seen myself like this. Maybe a hundred years?”

Her voice and tone are the same as when she used telepathy. Still, let’s put that aside for now, since her unfortunate smell is ruining the whole thing.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
While I was thinking about such insignificant things, I got a report from Alta.
A: Master, the dinosaur egg is about to hatch.
“What? Seriously!?”
The ‘dinosaur egg’ Alta was referring to, was an egg that dropped after I defeated the Tyrannosaurus back in Kastal. It was an egg, but it could be tamed, so I did, and it’s been sitting in the Inventory ever since. The reason why we took seven days off in this city to begin with, was actually because Alta estimated that the egg would hatch within this time. That’s why we were lazing about on the first and second day. Still, right when I was suddenly in the middle of something, the egg hatched at that very moment. Talk about bad timing.
I had no choice but to take it out of the Inventory. It was about 30 centimetres long when I first got it, but now it’s about a metre long. I might be wrong on this one, but I don’t think eggs usually grow after being laid…
“What!? What’s happening!?”
The Sea Serpent girl got confused, but I ignored her for now.
The egg cracked with a popping sound. Just for fun, I didn’t check its status until now. It’s a random drop, so cheating would take all the fun out of it. As a side note, Alta checked the status as per usual. Well, Alta’s job is to cheat, so it can’t be helped, now can it?
A: If there are any problems, I’ll inform you in advance, Master.
We’ve established a system where Alta doesn’t report if there’s nothing that could potentially harm me, so now I can watch the hatching with peace of mind.
The egg cracked open, and out of it came…
“Magical dinosaur girl [Seriously into hunting dinosaur girl] here☆ Looking for a cute name♪ Nice to meet you, Master♪” (ED: Because she’s an apex predator, get it?)
It’s a naked little girl with pink hair. She looks about the same age as Mio, maybe a little older (estimated at 9 years old), and is currently striking a pose, by placing her left hand on her hip, and bringing her right hand up to her eyes in a peace sign.
You’re not a dinosaur! And what’s with that pose!? Is that pink hair some kind of anime thing!? How can you talk when you’ve just been born!? And what’s wrong with your speech!?
A slew of angry retorts flew through my head. Anyway, for now, let’s just check her status.
Name: –
Gender: Female
Age: 0 years old
Race: Tyrannosaurus (Reincarnated)
Skills: <Body Strengthening LV6> <Bite LV4> <Tyrant LV-> <Transformation LV5>
Titles: Jin’s Monster Follower
More things to poke at. You don’t look like a 0-year-old! You’re a reincarnated person!? You have the ‘Tyrant’ skill!? And you were born with the ‘Transformation’ skill!?
“Um, what’s going on, sir? Who is this girl?”
The Sea Serpent girl pointed to the dinosaur girl. Now, isn’t this a funny coincidence? I would also like to know.
“I’m a monster girl born from a dinosaur egg♪”
It was the dinosaur girl herself who answered, while pointing at herself with her right hand, with just the index finger and the thumb extended. I wondered if she’ll do a different pose each time. Anyhow, before I knew it, the percentage of completely naked girls in our group became disturbingly high (50%). Still, perhaps because they were both monster girls, neither of them seemed particularly shy.
“Put some clothes on for now.”
“Here, Jin-sama.”
“Oh? Thank you.”
Maria handed me some clothes. Apparently, she had them prepared in advance, considering the situation. She is one thoughtful subordinate. I passed the clothes to the naked girls.
“Understood, sir.”
“Rodger☆ Oh, if you have any ribbons, please give me two♪”
“Ribbons. Coming up.”
I took out two red ribbons from Inventory and handed them to the dinosaur girl.
“Wow~☆ Thanksies~♡”
The two of them put on their clothes as instructed. The Sea Serpent girl aside, I’m sure it’s because she’s a reincarnated person, that the dinosaur girl could put on her clothes by herself, even though she’d just been born.
“All dressed up♪”
“I’m dressed, sir.”
The two of them are both wearing a one-piece dress that’s easy to put on through the head. There are no panties or bras, but it’s better than nothing. By the way, the dinosaur girl tied her hair up with the ribbons, twin-tails style. She now looks even more like an anime character. Well, she looks like a little girl, so I guess it’s fine…
“All right, that’s one problem taken care of. For now, the Sea Serpent girl will have to wait. Who are you, dinosaur girl?”
“I’ve been put on hold…”
The Sea Serpent girl became dejected, but I ignored her.
“About that, please give me a name, Daddy♪”
“I’m not your father though…”
“You’re the first person I saw after being born☆”
“Is it imprinting?”
I don’t understand the biology of little dinosaur girls. As for her name, I’ve been putting it off all this time, since it was pointless to name her while she was still an egg, but, now that she’s been hatched, I should probably give her one, right?
> Name her ‘Tamako’
> Name her ‘Tirako’
> Name her ‘Tiramisu’
> Name her ‘Yukari’
Oh, there are more choices than usual. And ‘Yukari’ (my childhood crush) is still there. It feels like a pun, but I think the best one is ‘Tiramisu’… It kind of sounds like a female version of ‘Tyrannosaurus’… (TL: Um, it’s the name of a cake…)
“Then, your name is now ‘Tiramisu’.”
“I like that it’s a name of a dessert, but I wonder if it’s meant to be a pun☆”
If you get it, then please don’t point it out.
“Ah, I would also like to receive a name, sir…”
The Sea Serpent girl timidly raised her hand.
“Don’t you have a name already? I’m fine with leaving it as is…”
It wouldn’t be surprising if she had one already, given that she’s intelligent enough to speak, and has lived for a long time. In Dora’s case, I gave her a name before even asking if she had one already (I don’t regret it), but I don’t think there’s any need to rename her. …Plus, I’m pretty bad at coming up with names, so I’d prefer to avoid giving her a weird one.
“I’d lived for a long time, so I do have several, but now that I’ve been tamed, I suddenly have an urge to have my new master name me, sir.”
“Is that how it works?”
“That seems to be the case, sir.”
It seems I can’t really avoid it. Also, Maria is making a strange face beside me. What’s going on?
A: She had said before that she was reborn when she became your slave. She likely regrets not asking to be given a new name as well.
Maria’s love (and faith) can be pretty heavy…
…For now, let’s come up with a name for the Sea Serpent girl.
> Name her ‘Nyoroko’
> Name her ‘Penko’
> Name her ‘Marine’
> Name her ‘Yukari’
This is hopeless! Why do the first two sound so childish…? I think the best one is ‘Marine’, …but it’s too similar to ‘Maria’.
Let’s go for a re-roll.
> Name her ‘Maple’
> Name her ‘Sirko’
> Name her ‘Aqua’
> Name her ‘Yukari’
‘Aqua’ is because she’s a sea monster, right? ‘Maple’ is …similar to ‘Tiramisu’? I’m not really a fan, but…
“Your name is now ‘Maple’.”
“Thank you! ‘Maple’. I like it, sir.”
“So jealous…”
The Sea Serpent girl, Maple, seemed really happy to have been given a name. Come to think of it, maybe monsters don’t have a good naming sense either. I’m also a little worried about Maria. Please don’t be jealous of your juniors…
“It’s a match with ‘Tiramisu’☆ We’ll make a great duo♪”
Well, they both became my subordinates at roughly the same time, so I think it’s just right to treat them as a duo.
