ED: Well, we’ve been left without a translator. For now I’ll keep this going on my own with machine translation until I catch up with my Japanese, or maybe someone else decides to help out. If there are any factual mistakes, please let me know in the comments (preferably under the most recent chapter, since I won’t regularly check back on all the old ones).

Chapter 64.5 – An Academic Kingdom and a School Festival
This is a really short story, one of the one-shot kind.
It’s about the length of a short story sheet from Animate.
It’s a great format that’s not too hard to write, and if you have a story to tell, you can write it down and dig deep into the characters’ settings.

There are twelve small countries in the Atto Union.
However, even if we say “small countries”, there are naturally differences between them.
The Neytun Academic Kingdom has the largest territory and population among the twelve.
Of course, there is a reason why it’s so large.
As the name suggests, the country attracts a large number of scholars. It is also home to one of the largest academies in the world.
The academy is like an integrated school from kindergarten to university in Japanese terms. People of various ages and races are studying together.
There is also a large number of laboratories, where the best brains from all over the world compete for research funds.
There are various departments and majors, such as “magic research” and “magical tools research”, but there’s also “physical law research”, which is kind of like our world’s “physics”.
The Estia Kingdom’s scholars, who research items obtained from the dungeon, are mostly graduates of this school.
“Aren’t you also interested in Neytun’s academy, onii-chan?”
Such a question came up from Sakuya, who was chewing on an Oyakodon.
“Why are you asking me this all of a sudden?”
“Well, I’ve received an invitation for a school festival, that’s about to take place in their academy. I can send someone on my behalf, so if onii-chan wants to go, I though I’d give it to you.”
She took out an invitation letter and showed it to me.
“Hmm…”
Are there school festivals in this world? Thinking about it, they shouldn’t be the same as in Japan.
“Since onii-chan likes sightseeing, I thought you might be interested.”
“It does sounds interesting.”
“The school arc! Is it finally here?”
Mio was cheering happily.
“If that’s the case, I’m going to be in the home economics club. I’m going to conquer the school with my cooking!”
“I’m afraid you could really do that…”
Seeing as she’d already conquered the queen of a large country with it (Sakuya), there’s no reason why she couldn’t conquer a small country as well.
“I don’t want to go to… I don’t want to go to school.”
“”Ah.””
Even in another world, going to school was a delicate subject for Sakura, who got incessantly bullied by her classmates back in Japan. Seems like just a mention of it was enough to resurface some unpleasant memories for her.
Mio and I, who failed to consider such an obvious thing, both instantly froze.
“Jin-kun, please don’t worry about me and just have fun with everyone…”
“Nope…”
-Bili-bili-
I returned the invitation to Sakuya.
“Eeh!? Just like that… are both of you fine with that?”
“Yes, of course.”
“Yes!”
Sakuya’s surprised question made both me and Mio nod without hesitation.
This is how the school festival, or the school arc, was put on hold.

In case you didn’t get my meaning, I don’t really intent to write a school arc.
I might do a chapter about Claude next.
This time it was just one, and it was pretty short at that, so I might do a couple side-chapters next time.
