Blessing from the Goddess and Transfer to Another World! ~No Thanks, I Don’t Need a Special Ability~ Chapter 65

ED: This is a single chapter my not-to-be translator did before we parted ways. Also, it might be a bit late, but I’m changing the term “ancient monsters” to “elder monsters”, since it’s a better fit.

Chapter 65 – A Test of Skills and the Dungeon’s Dark Side

Day 5 of free activities.

Today, we are visiting the dungeon.

The reason why we’re here is to measure the strength of the newly joined monster girls. Each floor of the dungeon has enemies at a different level range, so it’s a good place to measure their abilities and raise their levels.

For now, I have decided to put together a party consisting of the three monster girls: Tiramisu the Tyrannosaurus, Maple the Sea Serpent, and Chocolate the Harpy Queen; and let them fight the boss of the 30th floor, the flame dragon.

“Water Javelin!”

“Wind Slash!”

“GYOAAAAAAAAA!”

Maple’s Water Magic and Chocolate’s Wind Magic spells hit the flame dragon, causing it to fall to the ground with a loud cry.

“I’m going too ☆ Tira-chan, Kick ♪”

“GYOEEEEEEEEEE!”

Tiramisu made a big leap and dropped her heel on the flame dragon. Even though she’s so conscious about her weight, she doesn’t seem to hesitate to use it as a weapon. On that topic, can you even call a heel drop, a kick?

Either way, it finished off the flame dragon, instantly dropping it’s HP to 0.

“Great ☆ Victory ☆”

Tiramisu made a cute peace sign while sitting on top of the defeated flame dragon. Unfortunately her surroundings cut the cuteness in half…

After getting killed, the dungeon boss should disappear, right?

“Oops!”

-Thud!

The flame dragon’s corpse turned into ash, causing Tiramisu to plummet to the ground, making a loud noise as she crashed.

Tiramisu is currently wearing a pink Gothic Lolita outfit with lots of frills. It has been remodelled a little bit, to make her look more like a magical girl.

She likes to fight in close combat, but she wore a skirt, so you could see her strawberry-pattern panties during the battle. It was especially bad when she did the heel drop, her skirt was almost completely rolled up.

She was actually wearing shorts underneath before, but just before the battle, she took them off. When I asked her why, she said “It’s an eye service for my honey ☆”. I’m not sure what to say to that…

“I Failed ☆ I Failed ☆”

“Didn’t you hear master say that boss monsters disappear after they are defeated?”

“That’s right. You were being too careless.”

“Sorry ☆ I completely forgot ♪”

The three monster girls showed no signs of fatigue, even after their battle against the flame dragon.

“It seems like it wasn’t a strong enough opponent for you.”

“Not at all, if I were to fight it on my own, I don’t think I would have been able to win so easily.”

Chocolate reacted to my comment. Even though she was a harpy queen, she completely overwhelmed the flame dragon in aerial combat. Her level 8 <Flight> skill wasn’t just for show, as she kept toying with the flame dragon with her quick movements, launching wind magic spells at it, whenever it tried to ignore her.

“That’s right. In my case, I’m good at water magic, so it was a good match, making it a lot easier.”

Being a fire-type monster, the flame dragon was naturally weak to water, making Maple’s <Water Magic> super effective. She capitalized on that by using advanced water magic spells, while keeping her distance with <Flight> and <Diving> skills. Of course, she wouldn’t have been able to do that, without getting her long chants interrupted, if it weren’t for Chocolate keeping the dragon occupied all the time, letting them create this winning combo.

“Tira-chan can’t fly and can’t use magic, so I think I would have had a hard time if it flew in the sky ♪”

For some reason, Tiramisu couldn’t use magic at all. It’s not that her skills were disabled, it’s just that there was no magic she could actually use. I tried giving her level 10 magic skills, but she still couldn’t use them. Thankfully, it turned out she could still use the unique magic spells created by Sakura, causing her to cheer up a bit.

I know that goblins are bad at magic, since the magic that I can use, and the magic that they can use are different, even at the same skill level. By this logic, tyrannosaurs are extremely bad at using magic.

Instead, they are super good at close-range combat, and Tiramisu is definitely the one who deals the most damage in the party at the moment.

“Thinking like that, aren’t you’re a perfect match for this party?”

“That’s right. This way you cover for all your weaknesses.”

Maria, who is accompanying me as usual, also agreed.

Dora said she didn’t want to come because she didn’t like the flame dragon, so she’s currently taking a nap at our Kastal mansion.

“The flame dragon got defeated so easily, I didn’t even get a go…”

“It’s frustrating, Karen-chan.”

“It’s sad, Sora-chan.”

“We’ll have to work even harder for master’s sake.”

Cynthia and co said with their shoulders dropped. I thought that watching the battle of the three monster girls might be beneficial to them, so I invited the dungeon explorer group of Cynthia, Sora, Karen and Kate to visit.

The four of them had only just recently managed to defeat a flame dragon of their own, so they must have had some complicated feelings, watching the three monster girls, who had only just become my subordinates, defeat one so easily.

“That said, this mistress and Maple are monsters that have lived a long time. We can’t afford to lose to lower-levelled monsters, now can we?”

“That’s right. Maple and I are actually pretty strong, if you discount master’s group, that is…”

Certainly, Chocolate and Maple are both elder monsters with very high levels. They have a lot of combat experience, so it wouldn’t be strange for them to be stronger than Cynthia’s group, who have only just recently started fighting monsters.

“Then, what about Tira-chan?”

As Cynthia said, Tiramisu, who was just born recently and had a level of 1 originally, but has a fighting power comparable to that of high-level Maple and Chocolate, is indeed unusual.

Everyone’s eyes focused on Tiramisu. As expected, it made her feel a bit shy.

“Well, in my case, I’ve been following honey from the time I was born… ☆”

“Plus, when you think about it, she’s just innately really strong.”

“That’s right, I would probably also be much stronger, if I were raised by master.”

The three monster girls were just saying whatever they wanted.

“I guess it’s only natural if it’s because of master.”

“It’s natural, Karen-chan.”

“It’s reasonable, Sora-chan.”

“That’s right. If you’ve been with the Master for a long time, it’s not strange that you’ve been influenced by him to some extent.”

“Jin-sama is just that great.”

Apparently, it’s unanimously my fault.

“Maybe I’ll try raising another egg next time and see how it goes…”

“If so, would you like to raise one of mine? …then again, if it’s master, I can only see more harpy queens being born.”

It was Chocolate who responded to my words, as she can lay both fertilised and unfertilized eggs on her own. In the first place, wouldn’t only regular harpies hatch from the eggs?

A: Strictly speaking, there is an almost zero chance that a harpy queen will be born.

Oh, that’s the pattern of another harpy queen being born. But the harpy queen eggs are delicious, …then again.

“If that happened, I might be able to eat harpy queen eggs for all three meals.”

“…Ah, this mistress doesn’t want master to eat eggs of other harpy queens, even if they were my daughters.”

Chocolate said, pouting. I think she got a little jealous.

“Well, if we get any other eggs, I’ll try to raise them.

“I understand. I’ll tell my people to collect some.”

“…I’m not asking you to go that far.”

I stopped the overzealous Maria. I didn’t know what kinds of eggs they would gather if I gave such instructions to the followers scattered all over the region.

To be honest, there was even a chance they might try to steal some from monster nests. Oh, they’d already done that? Ha-ha-ha.

That being the case, I asked Tiramisu and the others about their future plans.

“So, what do you guys think? Want to go a little further?”

It’s the final level of the volcano area, so from now on it’s the graveyard area. In terms of ability, the three monster girls should be able to handle it.

Cynthia’s group is currently capturing the 32nd floor, so it seems like they might soon get overtaken.

“No, let’s hold off on that. It’s Cynthia’s group’s job to conquer the dungeon, right? I wouldn’t want to come late and steal all the glory.”

“I think so too. We’ve already proved our strength by defeating the flame dragon. Plus, intruding on someone else’s area is a big no no for monsters.”

It seems that territory is something really important to all monsters, and should not be intruded on casually. They’ve only agreed to fight the flame dragon in the first place, because Cynthia’s group had already surpassed it.

“Huh…☆”

Tiramisu, who was new to being a monster, didn’t seem to share the same sentiment. In the first place, are tyrannosaurs territorial? The only impressions I have of them is them just going wherever they want. Then again, it is based on The Jurassic Park…

“We can’t afford to fall behind!”

“That’s right. Let’s do our best and conquer the dungeon as quickly as possible.”

“Let’s do it! Karen-chan!”

“Let’s go! Sora-chan!”

In any case, the presence of the monster girls who easily defeated the flame dragon seems to have ignited the motivation of the explorer group.

“Master, can I take them to resume our exploration?”

“Sure, go ahead”

“Then, please excuse us.”

“””Please excuse us.”””

With that said, the four went back to the level they were currently trying to capture, with “portal”.

“Well, since we’re already here, I guess I’ll go run another errant.”

“Where are we going next, Jin-sama?”

“To the dungeon’s hidden area.”

It is said that the dungeon that stretches underneath Estia Kingdom, earning it the moniker of a Dungeon Kingdom, goes all the way down to the fiftieth floor.

This information however is something that Azuma, the former dungeon master, deliberately spread, and it could be said to be only half true. It certainly is the case that if an explorer descends the floors in the normal way, he or she cannot go further than the 50th floor, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t any floors further down.

In actuality, floors 51 through 60 have already been secured, and the dungeon master can control them as they please. Incidentally, the dungeon keepers’ living area and Azuma’s grave are both located on the 51th floor, which is also the place I visited after defeating the dungeon’s final boss on the 50th floor, though normally, when you defeat it, you only get an item as reward.

“Hello Carro, how’s the dungeon management going?”

I asked Carro, the dungeon’s chief keeper, who was doing some paperwork in her office on the 51st floor.

It’s not a place you can enter with a large group, so I had the three monster girls stay on the 50th floor. As such, it was only her, me and Maria here.

“Jin-sama, you’re here? Pyon. Yes, the dungeon management is going well. The number of dungeon keepers is also steadily increasing.

“Well, you could argue whether that’s a good thing or not…”

Dungeon keepers are the ones responsible for the defence and maintenance of the dungeon floors. Since the current dungeon master is a man, only women can become keepers. You also need their consent, so the current keepers are all women who accepted the job in exchange for being saved from death in the dungeon, making it a rather violent way to increase their numbers.

As such, I was worried it might cause resentment among them, but it seems like there were other circumstances involved, as when I asked Carro about it, she just told me “They don’t regret their choice. Pyon”. Somehow, I was still feeling guilty about it, so I double checked with Alta, but she also said:

A: It won’t be a problem.

Well, if you say so.

“So, what can I do for you today, Jin-sama? Pyon.”

“No, I just thought I’d come and check on things once in a while. It’s not good to leave things unattended, right?”

Actually, this is the first time I’ve come to the dungeon since I’ve visited Azuma’s grave. Shouldn’t I contribute more as the dungeon master?

“Jin-sama doesn’t really have to do anything. If your wish is to maintain the current status quo, you can just leave it as is. If possible, I’d like you to attend the monthly briefings, but it’s not a necessity, Pyon.”

“All right. Please let me know when there’s a briefing. I don’t know what I can do, but ……”

So far, I’ve been leaving it all for Alta to manage, but I wouldn’t want to just push all of my responsibilities onto her…

A: Please don’t worry about it. I’m always glad to be of help.

Isn’t she wonderful…

…to be honest, I’m not really good at managing things. I like to travel freely, so having an excellent manager like Alta has been a great help.

A: I’m honoured by your praise. Eventually, I’ll get a physical body and help you directly…

Alta-san? Somehow, I feel like a flag has just been raised. Are you okay?

A: I’m fine. Please leave it to me.

“Um, Carro-senpai, is this man perhaps…?”

While I was spacing out, a girl came into the office.

“Yes. This is Jin-sama, the dungeon master, Pyon.”

“I see. My name is Coral, I’m the keeper in charge of the 10th floor area. Pleased to meet you.”

“Oh, nice to meet you.”

The girl who introduced herself as Coral bowed deeply.

Does being an area leader mean that she’s in charge of floors 1 through 10?

A: That’s right. Additionally, there’s also a floor leader for each floor.

She is dressed like a normal adventurer. Yeah, I guessed that Carro’s bunny-girl outfit wasn’t the official uniform of the dungeon keepers. If that were the case, I would have had to question Azuma’s sanity.

“So, what’s wrong? Since you came here in person, I’m guessing something serious must have happened? Pyon.”

“Yes. The number of children in our custody has exceeded twenty. We’re running out of hands. We can’t just bring them to an orphanage either…”

“Right, …Pyon. We can’t really ignore this any longer. Pyon.”

“What are you two talking about?”

I think I just heard something disturbing.

“It’s unwanted children, Pyon. Some get abandoned in the dungeon by their parents every so often, or by people from the orphanage who can’t take care of any more of them. They’re not really in good shape, but we pick them up before they die. Some of them are boys though, so we can’t just make them all dungeon keepers, Pyon.”

“We’re already at full capacity, so it can’t stay like this any longer, and so we’re in trouble.”

Coral is in charge of floors 1 to 10. It’s where all the dungeon entrances are, so I guess it falls under her responsibilities.

I knew that there were a lot of children orphaned by the deaths of their adventurer parents, but I didn’t think anyone would go that far.

There are monsters in the dungeon, so abandoning them here is basically no different from sending them to their deaths.

On a side note, the keepers are only allowed to go outside of the dungeon when defending it from outside threats, so they can’t just return the children themself. But they can’t just leave them to die either.

“Some go as far as to kill the children inside the dungeon. In such cases, we can’t help them at all…”

“Won’t they stop them at the entrance?”

I don’t think they will allow children who are not explorers to enter.

“It’s all about money.”

”Truly lamentable. Pyon.”

Apparently some receptionists tacitly approve of the act of abandoning children in exchange for a small sum of money. It doesn’t seem to be so common in big cities, but in relatively small villages and towns, it’s not rare.

This is like using the dungeon as a garbage dump that leaves no evidence behind. How could they even come up with such a despicable thing?

Of course, if you’re caught, you’ll get severely punished, but in a country where the dungeon is the backbone of the economy, it is only natural that they would use it for something vile too.

“This is an urgent matter, Pyon. Since you’re already here Jin-sama, I’d like you to decide what to do about it…”

“That’s right, …it’s not something we can ignore any longer, but we can’t stop it on our own.”

I guess saving some kids wouldn’t be the worst use of my time. Plus, I just don’t like the idea of them being killed in Azuma’s dungeon.

“But there are boys who can’t be dungeon keepers, Pyon. And though there are some girls who aren’t in bad shape, I don’t know if they’ll accept being dungeon keepers either, Pyon.”

“Well, that’s not really a problem. I can just make them my slaves.”

“I see, Pyon.”

Not everyone saved by the dungeon keepers might want, or even be able to also become one as well. In that case, I can just turn the rest into my slaves to prevent them from divulging any of my secrets in the future. Problem solved.

“We can’t just send them back to the surface, so we’ll set up an orphanage on the 51st floor and raise them there for the time being. Once they grow up, we can let them choose to either become keepers, maids, butlers, or adventurers on the surface.”

I don’t think the kids will be of any help to us right now.

In this harsh world, there is no reason for a child, especially an orphan, to be of any immediate use. However, even though they are orphans, they still have the same potential as every other kid. If we raise them well, they should be able to become useful to me in the future.

In particular, my ability to help people grow more powerful will prove very helpful here.

ED Reminder: On top of literally being able to give stats and skill to his subordinates at will, Jin can also grant them access to his unique skills, effectively letting them gain a portion of stats and skills of every monster they kill (the rest goes to Jin), not to even mention Inventory, Identify, Map, Sakura’s original spells like ‘Portal’, and constant support from Alta.

We can’t just send children who were thought to have died in the dungeon back to the surface, and there’s probably no place for them there anyway, so we can just raise them here.

There is also an option of leaving them at an orphanage in Kastal, but the two countries are adjacent to each other, so there is always the possibility that something might happen. On the other hand, if you raise them on the 51st floor of the dungeon, there is little chance of information leaking out.

As for who would raise them… how about our maids?

A: No problem. We have enough people, and I will select the ones suitable for raising children.

As always, it’s great to have you.

“Next, we also have to deal with the ones who would directly kill a child, …yeah, let’s get some witnesses.”

“Witnesses? Pyon?”

“Yes, I’ll have one of my explorers to ‘happen’ to be there.”

“Oh, so we’re going to save the children under the guise of an explorer, and not as a keeper.”

Coral nodded her head in agreement.

“Oh, and then we get the adults, …and the corrupt receptionists. It’s hard to catch the ones who throw them away, but we can catch the ones who kill them directly, and it will help curb this in the future.”

“I understand. I’ll arrange it that way.” Maria replied.

As a dungeon master, I don’t intend to do a perfect job, but I’m not happy with the dungeon being used for such despicable acts. I’m going to take some counter-measures.

“I’m sorry, Pyon, In the end I couldn’t handle it on my own, Pyon.” Carro apologizes to me.

“There’s nothing for you to apologize for.”

I’m not going to give Carro, who has been maintaining and managing this place by herself for decades, a hard time.

Plus, the ones to blame are those who would use the dungeon for such vile things.

“Ah!” Coral exclaimed.

“What’s wrong?” I asked.

“No… its…”. She stuttered.

“You’re not talking clearly, Pyon. Speak up, Pyon.”

“Yes. I just got word from one of my men that a man came to the dungeon to kill a child.”

“Bad timing, …no, isn’t it rather good?”

I mean, the child is rather lucky that they were about to be killed after we decided on our future policy. So, in a way, the child was saved by it.

“If they are already in the dungeon, we don’t have enough time to leave it to someone else. I’ll go there myself.”

“I’ll accompany you.” Maria said.

Since Carro and Coral couldn’t go out in the open and we didn’t have much time, Maria and I decided to go rescue the child ourselves.

“Carro, you proceed with setting up the orphanage.”

“Yes, Pyon.”

“Do your best for those children’s sake.”

By clearing the dungeon’s 50th floor, and becoming the dungeon master, I gained the ability to teleport to any location in this dungeon. Unlike the “Portal” spell created by Sakura, it’s not treated as magic, but as a kind of authority. The proof of this being that it consumes zero MP and does not require any chanting.

I’ll be moving to a location a little farther away from the coordinates Coral gave me. After that, I will immediately use “Summon” to bring Maria along. Unfortunately, it seems that you can’t use this ability on other people.

-Don!

“Guh…”

As I approached the point where the child was about to be killed, I heard the sound of something hitting a person and a moan.

Rounding the last corner I’ve arrived at the scene, where I saw a reasonably well-dressed middle-aged man beating a little girl of about five years old with a wooden stick.

“Maria, stop him. But don’t kill him.”

“Yes.”

When I gave the instruction through telekinesis, Maria disappeared before approaching the man.

“That’s enough.”

The moment the man swung his wooden stick backwards, Maria, who had reaapeared behind him without making any noise, caught it and took the stick from the man’s hand. Sneaking up behind someone without a sound is an essential skill for a ninja. All assassins can do it.

“What? Why are you here?”

“It’s a dungeon, it’s not surprising that there are people here, right?”

“Another one?”

While the man got distracted by Maria, I picked up the little girl and took some distance from them. The little girl was shaking in my arms and clinging to me tightly.

The man was surrounded by Maria and me on both sides of the corridor. Of course, I was aiming for this.

“Nonsense! There shouldn’t be anyone in this area!”

It’s true that this spot is pretty out of the way, it’s far from the dungeon entrance, and there’s no stairs to the next level nearby.

It’s a place that no one would normally visit, meaning, he’s either a habitual criminal or he learned about this place from someone else.

“Damn it! Now that you have seen my hobby, I can’t let you live. Die!”

Saying so, the man drew the sword that was hanging on his waist and began to approach Maria.

Habitual criminal it is. He is a lot more trashy than I imagined. Looks like he was hitting the girl with a wooden stick, so that she wouldn’t die too fast…

Maria, who was already prepared for it, approached the man, grabbing him by the arm, and performed a perfect one-handed shoulder throw. (ED: A judo technique where you throw the opponent over your shoulder)

“Gah!” (ED: It was ‘ぐべっ!’ in the original, maybe it was supposed to be a part of some Japanese expression, but got cut short)

The middle-aged man got slammed into the ground, letting out a strange voice as he fainted. There’s froth coming out of his mouth, so he shouldn’t be dead just yet.

To be honest, I wouldn’t mind killing him, but I think it would be better to bring him back alive and publicize him crimes for the sake of deterring any future offenders, hence I instructed Maria to keep him alive.

“Well done.”

“Thank you very much. I imitated the technique that Jin-sama used when he fought Mira-san.”

Speaking of which, I did use a throw that one time, on Mira, who was rampaging after becoming a vampire. Did Maria try to imitate it? I’m not a judo practitioner to begin with, so I just threw her over my shoulder.

Come to think of it, Maria learned the “martial arts” skill on her own, didn’t she? Could it be that she acquired the skill by practising shoulder throws?

A: That’s right.

Maria, who can obtain the skill just by imitating the shoulder throwing I used by imitating what I saw on TV, is extraordinary in her own way…

While I was lost in such thoughts, the trembling little girl in my arms pulled on my clothes.

“What’s wrong?”

“Oh… uh… thank you.”

She thanked me in a slurred speech. I think I’ll better ask her about what had happened.

“You’re welcome. What happened here?”

“Ugh…”

When I asked her about it, she shivered and clutched my clothes, seemingly at a loss for words. It may have been too hasty to ask so soon. I’m sure she’s still terrified.

“If you don’t want to say, that’s fine. Let’s just get out of the dungeon for now.”

“Un…”

“Let’s go.”

Maria, who tied the old man with a rope and put him on a trolley in the short time it took me to talk with the little girl, also said she was ready to leave.

While holding the little girl in my arms, we made our way toward the nearest entrance, which was about 30 minutes away. Even though it was the first floor, the old man must have been pretty skilled to safely reach this place.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Norton!? Why!?”
The man at the reception desk shouted with a blue face when we arrived at the entrance. Hmm, this guy seems to be related to this.
By the way, Norton is the man who beat up the girl. He didn’t have any interesting skills, and he’s not a strong opponent, so I’ll skip the status.
I took away his stats, leaving just enough to keep him alive.
“This man was trying to kill this child in the dungeon. Do you know this man?”
“Yes, yes, he’s the director of the orphanage in the city just outside the entrance.”
A middle-aged man whose hobby is beating children to death, and on top of that, he is the director of an orphanage.
Isn’t this country done for? …I’ll be preaching to Cattleya later. No, it might be more effective to not let her eat at our place for some time.
“Which receptionist was here when this guy came through?”
“Well, I don’t know. I just started my shift, so I wouldn’t know…”
I could tell at a glance that he’s lying with how his eyes were swimming all over the place.
“I see. Then call the previous receptionist. He said he enjoys hurting children, so it’s not like it’s his first time. If the receptionist is on it too, they will most likely be treated as an accomplice.”
“Ugh…”
The man’s face turns even bluer.
Obviously, I’m not going to let him get away with it.
“Maria.”
“Yes.”
“Guffaw!”
Maria approached the man standing at the reception desk using “Flash Step” and punched him in the stomach, instantly knocking him out.
Was she trying to imitate the gut punch I used that other time?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I will explain what happened next.

First of all, the orphanage director in question had apparently been beating children to death for quite some time. The records of the children who had left the orphanage had been falsified in various ways, and most of them had been taken in by homes that did not actually exist. Almost all of them are probably dead…

It became apparent that there were not just one or two receptionists who had assisted the director, but quite a few. Using the full power of Alta, we were able to catch most of those who were in that city. I guess I’ll leave it to the kingdom to capture the ones who have already fled.

“You really saved me a lot of trouble this time around. I didn’t expect you to do so much in half a day. …Please leave the rest to me. And don’t worry, I won’t ask you any questions about why you were on the first floor or how you came across such a scene.”

It was Elincia who said this. When I contacted the Explorer Guild about this, she rushed here, even going as far as to use a transfer stone.

ED Reminder: One of the dungeon items, that lets you instantly teleport back to the dungeon entrance. Since it takes you to the last entrance that the stone, and not the person passed through, they are used for instant travel around the kingdom.

Being Cattleya’s subordinate, she sure works fast. Plus, the transfer stones for moving around the country shouldn’t be cheap…

A: Elincia is paid well.

I don’t think that’s the problem here.

“So, what about the orphanage?”

“It was a state-run orphanage, but it will be shut down as expected. The kids will be dispersed to other orphanages. Also, whoever was auditing the orphanage will be appropriately punished.”

As usual, Elincia is merciless. …No, it’s probably appropriate in this case? Multiple children have been killed due to their negligence.

“What about the director and the receptionist?”

“I’m sure you’ll agree with me, it’s an act that smears the dignity of the entire country. It will never be tolerated. In the unlikely event that the death penalty is not carried out, I will go and put an end to them myself.”

The probability of the director and the receptionists surviving had just dropped to zero.

“That’s it for the report. Then, I’ll send this child to the orphanage.”

The little girl I had rescued in the dungeon has stayed by my side until now.

It was getting dark, and there was no reason to take her around any longer, so I tried to hand her over to Elincia.

“No! I will stay with you!”

She still refused to leave my side. She reminded me of a koala, clinging to me with all her strength.

**************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************

Everyone loves KOJIIN and Alta’s humanization flag has been set. (ED: No idea, it’s literally “KOJIN” in the raws)

I haven’t decided whether to make Alta a man or a woman, but if I make it a mam, it would obviously be called human form ‘人化’ rather than human form ‘仁化’ (Duh), as it was originally one of Jin’s skills. (ED: Let’s face it, it’s not gonna be a man)
